Privacy Policy for Tunehaven
Last updated: May 26, 2026
Gedventures (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Tunehaven mobile application and related website pages.
This Privacy Policy explains how Tunehaven handles information when you use the app.
1. Information We Collect
Tunehaven is designed to collect as little personal information as possible.
We do not require users to create an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location. We do not sell personal data.
The app may store the following information locally on your device:
-
favorite radio stations;
-
recently played stations;
-
song or metadata history;
-
app settings and preferences;
-
alarm and equalizer settings;
-
ad preference choice (personalized or non-personalized ads), for users where this is requested in the app.
This information is stored on your device and is used only to provide app functionality.
When you use the free, ad-supported version of the app, advertising data may also be processed by our advertising partner Start.io (see Section 6 below). That processing is not stored by Gedventures on our own servers.
2. Radio Streaming and Network Data
Tunehaven connects to internet radio stations, station directory services, and related online resources in order to play streams and display station information.
When the app connects to a radio stream or third-party service, those third parties may receive technical information such as your IP address, device network information, user agent, request time, and the stream or resource requested.
We do not control how third-party radio stations, stream providers, or external services process this information.
3. Radio Station Data
Tunehaven may use publicly available radio station information, including information from community-maintained sources.
Station names, logos, stream URLs, trademarks, and broadcaster information belong to their respective owners.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
Favorites, history, settings, alarms, ad preference choices, and similar app data are stored locally on your device.
You can delete this data by clearing app data in your device settings or by using available in-app options, such as clearing history where provided.
If you uninstall the app, locally stored app data is normally removed by the operating system.
5. Permissions
Tunehaven may request device permissions only when needed for app functionality, such as media playback, notifications, or storage-related features depending on your Android version.
On supported Android versions, the app may also use the advertising identifier permission so that Start.io can deliver and measure banner ads in the free version of the app.
Permissions are used only for the purpose shown in the app or required by the operating system.
6. Advertising
The free version of Tunehaven displays banner ads through Start.io (formerly StartApp), an third-party advertising service.
Start.io may process information such as:
-
device and advertising identifiers;
-
IP address and general device/network information;
-
ad interaction and impression data;
-
app-related signals needed to deliver, measure, and limit ads.
Gedventures does not receive this advertising data directly and does not use it to build user profiles on our own systems.
Ad choices in the app
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region where consent is required, Tunehaven asks on first launch whether ads may be personalized using device and ad-related data.
You can change this choice at any time in the app under More → Ad preferences.
-
Personalized ads: Start.io may use device and ad interaction data to show more relevant ads.
-
Non-personalized ads only: Start.io should not use your data for ad personalization.
Until you make a choice where required, the app may default to non-personalized ads.
Start.io is an independent data controller for its advertising services. Its privacy policy is available at:
https://www.start.io/policy/privacy-policy/
7. Third-Party Services
Tunehaven may interact with third-party services, including:
-
internet radio stream providers;
-
public radio station directory services;
-
broadcaster websites, logos, and artwork sources;
-
Start.io, for banner advertising in the free app;
-
Google Cast services, when you choose to cast playback to a supported device;
-
your browser or email app when opening links or contacting support.
These third parties are governed by their own privacy policies.
8. No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
9. Children’s Privacy
Tunehaven is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your country. In the European Economic Area, the app is not directed to users under 16.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the app and related services.
However, no internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Use
Tunehaven may be used from different countries. Radio stations, directory services, advertising partners, and other third-party resources may be located in different jurisdictions.
By using the app, you understand that network requests may be processed by third parties outside your country.
12. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing.
Because Tunehaven generally does not require accounts and stores most app data locally on your device, many requests can be handled directly by deleting app data or uninstalling the app.
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you may also:
-
change your ad preference under More → Ad preferences in the app;
-
reset your ad preference by clearing Tunehaven app data in your device settings;
-
contact Start.io regarding advertising data processed through its service;
-
contact us using the details below for questions about this Privacy Policy.
For privacy-related questions, you may contact us using the details below.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
